Security officials, it will be the most threatening romantic drive in modern history: A two-kilometre midday journey across central London in a procession of Rolls Royces and carriages, at a leisurely speed of eight kilometres per hour.
This 15-minute excursion, to be made next Friday afternoon by newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, will require a staff of 5,000 police and hundreds more undercover security officials to fend off a dazzling array of potential threats along the route.
