Sandra to be honoured for charity work


London: Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock is to be honoured for her charitable donations to a school which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The 47-year-old actress donated USD 25,000 this year to Warren Eason Charter High School and has been selected for its hall of fame, reported a website.


The 20th Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place on May 18 in Easton`s auditorium.


Bullock is well known for her philanthropy. ‘The Blind Side’ actress has previously donated USD 1 million on behalf of her family to the American Red Cross` Japan relief effort after the country was hit by an earthquake.


"The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support from Sandra Bullock and her family," said the charity.


Sandra has been involved in charitable projects with the educational establishment since the natural disaster and this year is donating $25,000 in scholarships, according to Fox8live.com. The 20th Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 18th in Easton’s auditorium.
