Sunday is Mother's Day, and flowers are a great way to show her your love and appreciation.

• Head to Pike Place Market Flower Fest to pick out a bouquet of fresh blooms from farmers in the arcade and in tents along the cobblestones Saturday and Sunday, or be mom's favorite kid by spending the day out with her, browsing, noshing and picking out her own favorite flowers at the Market.

• Mother's Day at Seattle's Washington Park Arboretum is an annual tradition for many families, a perfect time of year for a stroll along Azalea Way to see rhododendrons, dogwoods and azaleas in bloom. Mark the occasion with a free family photo, make Mother's Day cards using pressed plants and flowers, and pick out a gift for mom at the Graham Visitors Center Gift Shop. The event includes 45-minute guided tours at 1:30 and 3 p.m. Sunday; admission and parking are free.
