Mother's day celebration in Boston

When it comes to celebrating Mother’s Day, we all do it a little different. Some Moms like to take a break from their responsibilities and do something for themselves. Like maybe take in a brunch with their girlfriends or sisters and leave the kids home with Dad. Others like to make it a family affair and share their special day with kids, spouses, and extended family members. However you choose to celebrate the day, either as a Mom yourself or paying homage to your own Mother, there are plenty of fun events this weekend.

15th Annual Mothers Day Walk for Peace
Time: Registration begins at 7:00am / Walk starts at 8:30am
Place: Town Field Park, Fields Corner, Dorchester, MA
Walk: 3.6 miles through Dorchester neighborhoods
The 15th Annual Mothers' Day Walk for Peace is a fundraising walk to support the programs and services of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute of Boston.

Follow the path taken by the Mama duck and her ducklings in Robert McCloskey’s classic tale, Make Way for Ducklings at the annual Duckling Day Parade. The parade begins at the Boston Common, led by the Harvard University Marching Band, and winds its way through Beacon Hill and back again.

From there, head over to the Public Garden and enjoys the sights and smells of Spring. The swans are back in the lagoon and the swan boats are running. Registration for the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Park Street entrance of the Common. The parade steps off at noon. Donations are $25 per family.
