Didier, who held the third charity ball of the Didier Drogba Foundation in London, wanted to thank all the people who made this success possible.
The third charity ball of the Didier Drogba Foundation was held on Saturday, 10 March, 2012, in London, at the Dorchester Hotel. The main goal of the Foundation is to provide financial and material support in health and education to the African people, especially in Ivory Coast, Didier's native land. "The support and generosity that everyone has given to the Foundation has been overwhelming. I am honoured that the people who have attended have made all this possible", said the Elephants captain at the end of an event which was a real success, with an auction raising over £250,000.
"Didier is doing an amazing job, said his Chelsea teammate John Terry. The way he is affected by the sick children, you can tell that he really cares and that he really wants to help. He loves his country and his country loves him !" Other Blues players like Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Michael Essien, Petr Cech and Raul Meireles were in the attendance, while Gervinho, William Gallas, Bacary Sagna, Emmanuel Adebayor or Djibril Cissé also came to show their support. Singers Estelle and Amadou & Mariam, performed on stage while the guests had the opportunity to bid for many stunning auction items, from a dream trip in a paradise destination to a special coaching session with Didier.
