Charity run around the Peak District for kidney

The team are taking on the challenge to raise money for the South West Thames Kidney Fund, which helps fund research into kidney conditions.

On June 30 the team will run or walk along the picturesque Monsal Trail, Derbyshire, before returning back to the starting point for a barbecue.

There is also an option of a 4km route for those who want a shorter challenge.

Camping facilities are available for those taking part, with the option to stay over the weekend.

Dr Peter Andrews, the Trust's clinical director of renal services said: "Sadly, Kidney disease is very difficult to live with and can be fatal, and unfortunately, it's becoming increasingly common. "It is vital that we are at the very forefront of kidney research and are doing all we can to prevent and treat this group of conditions.

"The Peak District challenge could be a perfect chance for local people to help us, either by taking part or simply making a donation to the fund. Every penny counts, and we are truly grateful for all of the help we can get."

The event will be starting at Thornbridge Hall, Ashford in the Water, Derbyshire on June 30, closing date for entries June 22.

Anybody interested in taking part can call 020 8296 3698 or email
