New Pentax Q-mount system camera lenses announced : Hoya Corporation Pentax Imaging System Division has introduced five new interchangeable lenses designed for the recently announced Pentax Q system camera. The system camera features the new Q-mount, Pentax new lenses come in two distinctive series. Two new Pentax Q-mount lenses of the High-performance series that offer excellent photo quality and image rendition, while the other three Pentax Q-mount lenses guarantee effortless creative digital photography. The new Q-mount Pentax lenses have been developed for exclusive use with the Pentax Q digital interchangeable lens system camera - at the moment of introduction the world’s smallest, lightest camera in its class.
Familiar K-mount, thanks to a reduction in the distance from the lens mount surface to the image sensor and by tweaking the size of the lens image circle to be proportionate to the sensor. The Pentax Q also makes use of a compact camera-sized sensor and sacrifices the onboard optical viewfinder, mirror box, focusing plate and autofocus sensor.–GM
