Sisters of Charity Foundation


Chester Healthcare Foundation, Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation, J. Marion Sims Foundation, The Duke Endowment and Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina traveled to Washington D.C., to participate in Foundations on the Hill, sponsored by the Council on Foundations and the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, March 8-9, 2011. The group, lead by Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina Director of Communications and Public Policy Brooke Bailey who served as the state captain, met with staff for Senators DeMint (R-SC) and Graham (R-SC) and Congressmen Clyburn (D-SC6), Duncan (R-SC3), Gowdy (R-SC4), Mulvaney (R-SC5), Scott (R-SC1) and Wilson (R-SC2).
The purpose of Foundations on the Hill is to inform and educate Congress about philanthropy, create visibility for foundations and philanthropy on Capitol Hill, advocate on issues affecting foundations and encourage Congress to view foundations as resources on key public policy issues.
