Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin ( ரவிச்சந்திரன் அஷ்வின், born 17 September 1986) is an Indian national cricket team player, who plays for India and Tamil Nadu cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and right arm off-break bowler. He is the only bowler of recent times apart from Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka to bowl the carrom ball. He also got selected in the Indian squad for 2011 World Cup championship.
He played for Chennai Super Kings in the 2010 Indian Premier League. His bowling spells in a few crucial matches for Chennai won him good appreciations. He was declared Man of the Match for his spell of 3/16 (4 overs) against Kolkata Knight Riders. Chennai won the match by 9 wickets.
He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 5 June 2010. He scored 38 runs from 32 balls(4 fours and 1 six) in a losing game.

He became the highest wicket taker of the 2010 Champions League Twenty20 tournament for Chennai Super Kings in the tournament with 13 wickets and was adjudged as the player of the tournament and also got the Golden Wicket. During IPL 2011 auction which happened on 5 and 6 January 2011, he has been retained by Chennai Super Kings for the amount of 900000$. Later, on that month he has been included in the squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 to represent India along with the spinners Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla.
He made his World Cup debut on 20 March 2011 against the West Indies with bowling figures of 10-0-41-2.He played his second world cup match against australia in the second quarter final at ahmedabad in which his bowling figures were 10-1-52-2 , which were match winning .
